East Coast

The East Coast is one of eight key regions featured on Englandscoast.com. the region is richly varied with extensive nature reserves and vast sandy beaches, stylish coastal resorts, attractive market towns and a wealth of historic buildings.

Home to the Broads National Park with its network of inland waterways and several nature reserves including Gibraltar Point, Donna Nook and Minsmere the area is particularly recognised for its nature and wildlife. As well as a huge variety of bird life, seals can be spotted at several points along the coast.

There is rich history to be explored particularly in Harwich with its links to the Mayflower and in a number of stately homes, museums and ancient churches. Culture enthusiasts will enjoy the variety of performances on offer at Snape Maltings near Aldeburgh and Structures on the Edge on the Lincolnshire coast. East Coast towns include both attraction-packed seaside resorts and pretty market towns.

The East Coast region includes the coastlines of the counties of Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex and there is a separate module for each. Choose your home county or if you think you are already an expert learn more about another county!
