North West

North West

The North West is one of eight key regions featured on Englandscoast.com. Stretching from the Wirral peninsula to Lancashire and Cumbria, this coastline offers the opportunity to enjoy the heritage and cultural attractions of Liverpool and the popular seaside resorts of Southport and Blackpool, then get away from it all on large expanses of rural coastline with beautiful nature reserves and a choice of coastal walks.

Liverpool is famous as the home of the Beatles but also features a number of attractions linked to its important maritime history. Lancashire’s charming Victorian seaside resorts include Cleveleys, Fleetwood and St Anne’s and Blackpool, home of the Blackpool Tower and the world famous Tower Ballroom.

Further north there are stunning views across Morecambe Bay and interesting cultural heritage in the town of Morecambe. The Cumbrian coast has a rich variety of experiences from the towering sandstone cliffs that dominate the Heritage coast at St Bees to the Rum Story Museum at Whitehaven.

The North West region includes the coastlines of Liverpool and Sefton (including the Wirral peninsula), Lancashire and Cumbria, and there is a separate module for each of these three. Choose your home county or if you think you are already an expert then go for an alternative!
